2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Mother Vine
Fruit forward aromas of dark cherry and cocoa fill the nose while prominent flavors of blackberry, black currant, and notes of espresso...
A pioneer in the California wine industry, Concannon
Vineyard has a history of firsts. Among these contributions was
the introduction of the Concannon Cabernet clone 7 in 1966 to the
winegrowing community, particularly in Napa Valley. Today this
clone can be found in the most esteemed Cabernet Sauvignons in
the state, and Concannon continues to offer our own exceptional
Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from our very best estate vineyard
block. The fruit for the “Mother Vine” Cabernet Sauvignon is
sourced from the vines of the very first planting of our
legendary clone and is named to honor the “mother vine”
that gave birth to a legacy.
The 2010 “Mother Vine” Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve is a
luscious, full-bodied wine. The 2010 vintage was a cooler year,
allowing longer hang time for the grapes producing lower yields
and higher quality that suggests a fully structured and age-worthy
wine. Fruit forward aromas of dark cherry and cocoa fill the nose
while prominent flavors of blackberry, black currant, and notes
of espresso dance on the tongue and lead to a smooth, lingering
Blue cheese crusted filet mignon.
